Former UFC light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans is likely several big wins away from competing for the title again. Earlier this year, “Suga” was handed a decisive decision defeat to Jon Jones for the belt he once wore and is essentially at the back of the contendership line as a result. Over the weekend, after witnessing middleweight king Anderson Silva handle Chael Sonnen , Evans sent out a message via Twitter that he was willing to face “The Spider.” Unfortunately for fans, manager Glenn Robinson has put the brakes on talk of his fighter heading down to the division.
It looks like UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem has taken the necessary steps to work his way back into the favor of UFC President Dana White after drawing the outspoken executive’s ire in relation to a failed drug test earlier this year. Overeem was scheduled to take on champion Junior dos Santos but ended up withdrawing from the fight based on testosterone use stemming from an anti-inflammatory mixture his doctor prescribed him

Two featherweights looking to make an impact in the division will collide at UFC 152 , as Marcus Brimage and Jimy Hettes have agreed to put their unbeaten records inside the Octagon on the line at the September 22 show. The event is set for Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is unknown where the Brimage-Hettes bout will be placed on the card, though a spot on the prelims is likely.

Will Anderson Silva ’s rage and hatred towards Chael Sonnen cause him to make mistakes when the two meet at UFC 148 on July 7 in Las Vegas? Many of the mixed martial artists I have spoken to throughout the years have told me that they don’t allow their emotions to get the best of them and therefore choose to ignore their opponents verbal jabs during the build-up of the fight

Roy Nelson has been told time and time again by many – including UFC President Dana White – that he would thrive at light heavyweight. Now it appears as if “Big Country” may be open to the idea if he can lure Mike Russow inside the Octagon. Over the weekend, Russow was defeated for just the second time in his career by Fabricio Werdum , as the Brazilian earned a knockout victory over the Chicago police officer at UFC 147

After last night’s outing on FX, the UFC is back with Arianny Celeste and a PPV in tow. Though UFC 147 may not be a star-studded card, there’s little doubt tonight’s effort from the organization in Brazil will be packed with highlight-reel finishes set to the backdrop of an animated collection of fans. Headlined by iconic middleweights Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva meeting for the second time, the show also features talented heavyweights Fabricio Werdum – Mike Russow going at it in addition to the finals from the first international season of the Ultimate Fighter

Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman will comprise the main event at UFC on Fuel 4 on July 11, as the two middleweights are slated to square off from San Jose, California. Munoz will be returning to action for the first time since surgery to repair his injured elbow. Since that time, a number of UFC middleweights have proclaimed to be the next contender in the division, including current #1 Chael Sonnen who will face Anderson Silva for the title at UFC 148

Even though UFC middleweight Wanderlei Silva is currently immersed in a camp preparing him for a rematch with Rich Franklin taking place in a little more than a week he has another fighter on his mind – Chael Sonnen . Silva’s issues with the silver-tongued scrapper have been well-documented over the past few years with their personal problems first surfacing after Sonnen decided to diss Brazil as part of his strategy for selling a fight with Anderson Silva . However, during an in-person encounter caught on tape, Sonnen had very little to say about Silva or his countrymen when pressed by “The Axe Murderer” to explain his actions.
