Tito Ortiz claimed the UFC light heavyweight championship with a victory over Wanderlei Silva in 2000. He then went on to defend the title a record five times before falling to Randy Couture a few years later. Since that time, the division’s top spot has been like a revolving door with numerous title-holders failing to successfully defend it a single time
It looks like former Bellator middleweight champ Hector Lombard will face a new opponent on August 4 when he makes his UFC debut after news surfaced stating original adversary, Brian Stann , had withdrawn from the bout as the result of an undisclosed injury he suffered while training for the fight. The two were set to serve as the evening’s main event meaning Stann’s status has left the show’s headliner in limbo.
