If you ask a fan of combat sports for an opinion on judging chances are he/she will not only have one but it will involve some sort of negative sentiment about the job being done. Even as recently as last weekend questionable scoring came into play when a head-scratching Split Decision was rendered in a boxing match between Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley where the only three people who seemed to see things in Bradley’s favor were the fighter himself and the two judges who awarded him the win. MMA fans too were treated to a few officials’ questionable observation skills when one errantly ruled in favor of Carlos Eduardo Rocha against Mike Pierce at UFC on FX 3

The MMA world finally received some closure in the month-long saga surrounding Alistair Overeem showing an extraordinarily high level of testosterone in his system after being randomly screened by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
It seems UFC President Dana White is not willing to wait another week for an outcome in Alistair Overeem ‘s situation with the NSAC.

Frank Mir will replace Alistair Overeem in title-fight against Junior dos Santos
It appears the door is not completely closed on former Strikeforce light heavyweight champ Muhammed Lawal competing for Zuffa again. Lawal was recently suspended and released in the past few weeks.

In a little more than two weeks the MMA world will finally have its answer concerning Alistair Overeem ’s future where it pertains to participation at UFC 146 . Overeem is currently scheduled to face heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos at the event in headlining action but recently tested positive for an elevated level of testosterone and may not be licensed as a result. According to Nevada State Athletic Commission chief executive Keith Kizer , Overeem will face the music on April 24 where he’ll not only need to offer a legitimate explanation regarding the amount of testosterone in his system but request his “B” sample is screened in hopes of having his name cleared

Six UFC heavyweights got a surprise on Tuesday when the Nevada State Athletic Commission came calling after the group had spoken to fans and media about their upcoming bouts at UFC 146 . According to multiple reports, rather than request paperwork or address something specifically related to the respective match-ups, the regulatory board randomly tested the fighters for drug use. Included in the sextet of scrappers were headliners Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem , as well as Frank Mir , Cain Velasquez , Roy Nelson , and Antonio Silva
