Earlier today Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira became the latest fighter scheduled for action at UFC 149 to be forced off the July 21 card. The 36-year old Nogueira, who was set to collide with Cheick Kongo , withdrew based on lingering issues with his surgically repaired arm. However, it appears Kongo will still compete at Calgary-bound show with 13-3 Shawn Jordan stepping up to face the Frenchman

Penn has changed his mind regarding a return to the Octagon should receive an update in the coming days after “The Prodigy” was apparently offered a bout by the UFC . Penn unexpectedly retired last October after losing a fight to Nick Diaz and deciding he wanted to spend his immediate future with family/friends rather than training like a world-class athlete.

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney knew he could lose Hector Lombard once the middleweight’s four-year contract expired. Now, those fears have come true, as Lombard has signed his contract with the UFC meaning Bellator was unable to match Zuffa’s offer (or chose not to).
