This past weekend’s title-fight between UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva and challenger Chael Sonnen was not without its share of controversy including the title-holder getting overly aggressive at the weigh-ins and a stiff knee in their fight some felt was illegally thrown. Chael Sonnen issued an interesting stipulation to Anderson Silva several months ago. In it, Sonnen said if he failed to defeat Silva for the UFC middleweight title, he would walk away from fighting. Despite Sonnen taking the stipulation off the table after Silva failed to immediately accept, at least one member of Sonnen’s camp feels he will still hold up his end of the deal after falling by strikes to Silva at UFC 148

The final hump for UFC middleweights Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen to get over arrived in the form of tonight’s UFC 148 weigh-ins where both men made weight for their main event meeting before squaring off for what was as predicted another intense staredown. Things, however, got physical this time around with Silva delivering a shoulder-bump when the two went toe-to-toe after each hitting their weight-related marks.
