Former WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown has decided to make one last run at a Zuffa title instead of calling it quits. Brown, who seemed set to retire after two consecutive losses in the UFC , has signed a new five-fight deal with the promotion. Since back-to-back defeats via decision at the hands of Diego Nunes and Rani Yahya , Brown has defeated Nam Phan and Daniel Pineda .

UFC bantamweight Urijah Faber has a pretty laid back personality. After all, he’s “The California Kid”.

Urijah Faber “not real happy” about new date but still excited for battle with Renan Barao
This past Friday night marked the end of one chapter in UFC bantamweight Urijah Faber ’s life with a new one beginning on Saturday as his focus turned from coaching on the Ultimate Fighter to preparing for a July 7 encounter with Brazilian beast Renan Barao . Faber and Barao will meet in co-headlining action at UFC 148 with the winner emerging as an interim champion while Dominick Cruz recovers from a torn ACL.
As expected, UFC bantamweight Urijah Faber will battle Renan Barao at UFC 148 with divisional gold on the line as part of a match-up meant to determine an interim championship. Current title-holder Dominick Cruz is currently sidelined until early 2013 with a torn ACL

Urijah Faber facing Renan Barao in interim title-fight at UFC 148
When bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz went down with a serious knee injury the UFC wasted little time addressing the issue, stating an interim belt would be created with Urijah Faber challenging a yet-unveiled opponent at UFC 148 where he was originally scheduled to face Cruz.

Renan Barao open to the challenge of facing Urijah Faber at UFC 148
The future of the UFC ’s bantamweight division became slightly clearer last night when Dana White addressed the status of injured champion Dominick Cruz and rival challenger Urijah Faber . According to the UFC President, Cruz will be out for approximately nine months based on his recent ACL tear though he’ll remain in his role as a coach on the current season of the Ultimate Fighter . With Cruz out of the picture until at least the first quarter of 2013, and having already missed the past nine months due to a hand injury as well as TUF, White explained the organization will create an interim title to keep things going at 135 pounds with Faber serving as one of the two contenders.
Dominick Cruz helped boost his stock by serving as a coach on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter 15 where he’s faced off against rival Urijah Faber . Unfortunately he won’t be able to capitalize on his increased profile, at least at any point in the immediate future. According to the UFC’s website, as well as Cruz via Twitter, “The Dominator” tore his ACL while training for an upcoming title-defense against Faber at UFC 148 and has been forced to pull out of the July 7 event as a result.
Out of fifteen versions of the Ultimate Fighter only a few truly stand out. One of those is unquestionably TUF 4: The Comeback where a group of UFC veterans were given a second shot at redemption inside the Octagon with each divisional winner earning a title-shot in the process.
UFC President Dana White released his first video blog for this weekend’s UFC on FOX event though none of the content specifically pertains to the card the clip is attached to. However, semantics aside, the outspoken executive’s entry this time around is extremely entertaining nonetheless. In it White captures Urijah Faber outside the UFC Training Center in Las Vegas where the company is currently filming the Ultimate Fighter 15 .
It seems the inclusion of UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva ‘s rematch with Chael Sonnen was a little too much for the PPV portion of UFC 148 to handle.
